A bit like the Queen, really

The more observant amongst you will have noticed that yesterday's post - officially The First Post on this blog - was dated September 1st. And that this post is dated September 2nd - well, obviously, because otherwise I wouldn't have called yesterday's post "yesterday's post".

More than just a monument to sarcasm

So here it is at last - the weblog of the Paternal Optimist. It's been gestating for some time, but to be honest the birth has been, thus far at least - without complications and surprisingly painless. Now, of course, it has to be nourished and nurtured so that it grows into a nice healthy bouncing baby of a blog.

In fact, this does not consitute the PO's first appearance on the net - more of that noteworthy event later - but I must admit that it feels good to have a real concrete presence at last, a home of my own, if you will.
